Around Ganesh Himal Trekking takes you to complete wilderness around the isolated country away from villages in the harmony of dramatic landscapes, rolling green hills, and mountains within the shadow of the massive bulk of Ganesh Himal also known as ‘Yangra’ in Tibetan origin language which is similar to native Tamang tribe the main people of Ganesh Himal area.
Ganesh Himal can be seen from Kathmandu valley on a clear fine day towards the west of the valley, where the main peak Ganesh I stand at (7,422m/24,350ft) high, with its massive satellite peaks Ganesh NW (Ganesh II or Ganesh III) are the most favored in this respect.
The name Ganesh is derived from a Hindu god and deity called Ganesha, in the form of an elephant-headed god. The south face of Pabil (Ganesh IV) slightly resembles an elephant, with a ridge that is reminiscent of an elephant’s trunk.
Around Ganesh Himal Trekking begins with a drive from Kathmandu heading towards Nepal Mid-West at Gorkha district, where the walk starts away from the main route of Manaslu heading into complete wilderness walking into farm villages and forested areas filled with rhododendron-oaks-magnolia-pines and fir trees.
As the walk proceeds, day by day leading away from farm villages for a few days as our route leads to pristine surroundings and a green fresh environment, where trek leads to our highest point at Pansang Bhanjyang with a fabulous panorama of mountains.
After being in a remote and isolated country for many days walk leads back taking an alternative scenic route to reach back into farm village and human settlement around warmer lower areas at Trisuli Bazaar to end the walk.
From Trisluli Bazaar the main town of Nuwakott district, where our wonderful adventure Around Ganesh Himal concludes with a drive back into hustle and bustle city life in Kathmandu, after a memorable time and experience on Around Ganesh Himal trekking.
